Kick start- Summer Learning Journey

Happy New Year everyone and hello to 2025. Hope you all had a lovely start to your new year. Because I know that I had an awesome start  to mine. Today’s take for summer learning journey was to create a a poster with five facts about turtles and create a image of a turtle. This task was really easy and I have created my poster on a google drawing with a template that the Summer learning team has provide us with. Then I had to fill in a slot with an image of a sea turtle. I think that the image a put their is very sute. So any way it is time for you to have a look at it. here it is.

My SLJ work: Kick Start

Hello bloggers! Welcome back To Somya’s blog!

Today I have been making a little photo out of sea shells. In Christchurch it s a bit of a cold day that’s why I have been making this photo on my Chromebook as it was given an Option. I first thought of making a simple heart like I did last time so that’s why I thought to increase the level a bit by making a smiley face which was actually not that hard as I thought it would be. I first found an image 0f shells but It had sand as the background so it didn’t work. That’s why I searched up no background. Then I got a picture of 4 different type of shells. I  then croped them to make them individual and then started crafting my picture with them. I made a very good circle from my prospective and then inside wonderful with my cousins agreement. But anyways now I am wondering for how you will like it so I hope you enjoy!

SLJ Task

Namaskaram! { In Malayalam } bloggers! Welcome back to Somya’s blog!

Today I have been doing my Summer learning journey and today the task as to make a new kind of species of animal on the app called poly-pad. Poly pad is an online platform that provides you the capability’s to make new new things by using shapes! From my prospective I think it’s a pretty cool app. I didn’t even know that there is a thing called Poly-pad. I watched the video provided by the SLJ team, watched and started using it! It was so fun! I have named this animal called Sammy the into but the species name is info pact as mentioned on the blog post. I have had alot of fun though as well! Then I took a screen shot of my animal and uploaded it onto a google drawing!

 

Reflection 

Today I have learned how to use polypad the info described by the team that they found more than 150 new types species of animals on in Aoteroa.

So I have really enjoyed doing this Hanga as you can see so I hope as much as fun I did you also have that much fun or more!

Summer learning journey task: Step it up

Hello blogger’s,

welcome back to Somya’s Blog. Today’s task for step it up was to create a Among us sea room escape room if that makes any sense. To create this escape room I used google slide and their are 32 slides I think. Their are 10 questions to get you to victory and their are 3 options 1 is correct and one is incorrect hope it is not to hard or not to easy for you guys. I have added some questions about New Zealand and parliament 1 Disney  questions then a complete bunch of random questions I really hope you enjoy the different variety of questions I made for you people. I really hope you enjoy the escape room challenge and are able to escape in time, complete of your quests ,find the imposter and rule the sea. here it is.

My SLJ work

Welcome back to Somya’s blog!  Today I have been doing my next task for the Summer Learning Journey. Today I have been filling in a Wavy Words Wheel. I had to cover some criteria’s of this wheel such as objects, marine life etc. I have been doing this on the  Google drawing platform that I had to make a copy of. To find this copy you can  look in the website for the day as it is linked. There was a link uploaded on the side telling a little hint of what else you can add in to your Wavy Word Wheel.  I didn’t understand some word that’s why I had to Google up some meanings and added it into my own words. I wrote 3 words to describe the topic in each box. I had to make my own text box to fill in this sheet for each fact. Please don’t hesitate to comment if anything is wrong or good I am looking forward to seeing some! Any ways now I will describe some things I have learned in the paragraph reflection.

 

 

 

Reflection

Today in this Summer Learning Journey task I learned That you can upload links into a Google drawing as I mentioned I had to  click on that website as I was out of Ideas.

Summer Learning Journey Task

In today’s video I have explained how to show numbers in New Zealand Sign Language from 1 to 20. I have learn’t this through the Summer Learning Journey. I plan to continue my Sign Language Journey thought summer and even after summer.

 

 

 

 

Summer learning journey

Welcome back to Somya’s blog! As New Zealand has 3 official languages we have learned Maori and English but have ever noticed we missed sign language! Well I have, so today I am uploading one of the summer learning journey tasks. It didn’t say to make a video but I wanted to so made one. I gave a challenge to myself to upload on my blog as much as I can along with summer learning journey. Today I have been sharing the days of the week with a little sound track at the  back saying what I am saying in sign language as well. There is a bit of light around on the background so if it has any issues while looking at me do the sign language please tell me by commenting on my blog, though I have pulled the curtains. I have also said some things about myself as well so don’t forget to look at it.

Reflection

Once in the plays we had to make a background for our play which Taiba was doing so she was looking and she introduced me to this new Google which was called Google video. I have not used  it yet so this is  my first time using it so please correct me if I have done something wrong and I would fully recommend using this as it is an efficient app like Google drawing, Google slides, Google docs etc. This had a different style to blog it I got a bit stuck at first but then got it!

My christmas bauble

Welcome back to Somya’s blog! Today I am blogging my Christmas bubble. Yes on the Summer learning journey we had to make a Christmas baubble. We had to make a copy of a link on the summer learning journey task board and had to upload I onto our blogs which Is part of this journey. I have made this on a Google drawing using and ornaments template. I couldn’t have access to change the coulor of the ornament for some odd reason that’s why I had to make a scribble copy of it using the edits folder and using some tools. Once I changed it I had thicken the length of the outliner so that it wouldn’t look bad. The I added some pictures from pintrest and added a photo of a snow man and wrote Merry Christmas on the top. I added some balls from shapes magic to make some snow falling. Using the tool Scribble I made a curvy line representing the snow that has already fallen down.

Reflection

I have learned that you can retrase somepthing to fill in a new coulor. I think that red was matching that’s why I changed the baubble’s main background coulor to red. I cropped from Pinterest and added it to my baubble as I mentioned on the top. The photo that I took from Pinterest was a photo of a snow man.

My word Search

Welcome back to Somya’s blog! Today I am going to be sharing my word Search. As you must saw my cards. Today  I am going to be blogging  the next task.Today we had to make a word search! We used a website called ”Word search puzzle” and used it to make our word search! I used some words and named my puzzle ”Things you can find in the ocean.” I have used exactly 13 words in my puzzle and I think it is quite good personally. To play your role please try to do it, don’t worry it’s not to hard. I tried to do my level best though.

 

 

Instructions

This a little recap of how to play a word search. The words are bellow of what words you have to find in this puzzle.  You have to try and find them in this puzzle

 

Reflection

This word puzzle told me that there is this app called Word search puzzle. It also taught me some cool things about the ocean. I had a lot of fun making this word puzzle.
